Rendezvous in the Classroom Program: Deadline May 31, 2010

Since 2001, Rendezvous with Madness has programmed films specifically for high school students through Rendezvous in the Classroom. All short films submitted to the festival by the May deadline will automatically be considered for the Rendezvous in the Classroom program. Films selected for this program run multiple times during the festival, and filmmakers are often invited to participate in multiple post screening panel discussions with high school students. This year, Rendezvous in the Classroom will be giving special consideration to short films that address issues of “self harm."

Rendezvous with Madness Film Festival: General Program Deadline June 30, 2010

Rendezvous with Madness (RWM) is the world’s first and longest running film festival showcasing films that address issues of mental illness and/or addiction. The festival provides a distinct venue for filmmakers to screen their work and has grown into a filmmaker favourite over the past eighteen years.

RWM brings independent Canadian and International film and video to the public. RWM features strong programmes that address the facts and mythologies of mental illness and addiction. Each of the various programmes focuses on different themes and includes panel discussions involving the filmmakers, artists and people with professional and personal experience with mental illness and addiction.

Special consideration will be given to films that:

  • Present issues of mental health and addiction from local, multicultural or youth perspectives
  • Premiere at Rendezvous with Madness

Rendezvous with Madness accepts short and feature length films of any genre, that touch on issues of mental health and addiction, from anywhere in the world.
